Switchgrass is a plant native to the mid-US. Various studies have come to the consensus that its large root mass that goes up to 30 feet deep sequesters significant amounts of carbon. We propose a business model that allows people to buy carbon offsets and with those funds, Our Blue Collective would convert farmland to switchgrass reserves. This would also create biodiversity hotspots in heavily-farmed areas.
